with a charitable organisation called V4U provided assistance to 45 war widows in the Mullaitivu District who are members of the District Union of Thrift and Credit Co-operative Societies. Paddy Cultivation Loans to 60 cultivators in the Mannar District. Training programme for members and staff of Thrift and Credit Co-operative Societies in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Co-operative College of Manchester, U.K. A project started to commemorate the International Widows’ Day in 2015 to provide five coconut saplings to about 3000 widows in the North. This is to be repeated every year.
