Empowering Education:

CSNHA’s Bicycle Distribution Program for Vakarai Students

The Cooperative Society of the Netherlands for Humanitarian Activities (CSNHA) has taken a meaningful step towards improving the educational opportunities of students in the underprivileged village of Vakarai, located in the Batticaloa district of the Eastern Province.

As part of this initiative, CSNHA has implemented a bicycle distribution program aimed at supporting students who face daily challenges in accessing education. This program was made possible through the generous financial contribution of the Petrus en Paulus Kerk in Den Helder. Their support has enabled the purchase of bicycles for students who previously had to walk up to 5 kilometers each day to reach their schools. We firmly believe that this initiative will bring significant improvements to the educational progress of these students, many of whom come from impoverished backgrounds. By reducing the physical burden of long commutes, the program aspires to create better learning outcomes and foster hope for a brighter future.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Petrus en Paulus Kerk and everyone who contributed to making this initiative a success.
